RVA-IX.net, whose parent company RichWeb specializes in comprehensive technology solutions for medium to large enterprises and non-profits, recently donated computer hardware to the Randolph-Macon College Computer Science Department.
The hardware—including servers used to study virtualization and network routers and switches used to study network design and cybersecurity—will be used to enhance courses taught by the Computer Science faculty, including cybersecurity courses taught by Professor John McManus '84.
"Our cybersecurity courses," says McManus, "will benefit from the dedicated network hardware and application servers. This donation provides an excellent foundation for expanding our students' experience and reinforcing the materials learned in the classroom. Students can experiment and learn in a realistic environment."
